NCDE's next audition will be Tuesday, October 13, 8:15-10:45 pm at DanceVisions studio, Cubberley Community Center #L-3. We're seeking experienced modern dancers, who will be paid monthly for development and performance of new and repertory works. We prefer to develop long-term relationships; minimum one-year commitment required through performance in fall 2027.

Auditions run like an informal class, with a group warm-up followed by learning a phrase. No need to prepare any materials in advance. Bring a CV if you have one, but it is not necessary. Come with comfortable dance clothes and an open mind!

The company offers challenging material in a fun and supportive rehearsal environment; choreographic opportunities will also be available. Company members will be eligible to attend summer dance camp in 2027 for the creation of site-specific work. Following mentoring within the company, NCDE dancers and alumnae have started their own community performance projects, run their own studios, apprenticed with Joffrey Ballet, and trained with Mark Morris Dance Group's teaching program, among other pursuits.
